Downtime Measures & Defect Elimination Triggers

A Downtime measure is placed on each critical asset to capture events each time the asset has stopped (ON/OFF), or if it is running under the desired production rate (SLOW RUNNING). Defect Elimination triggers can also be chosen in this section by selecting the corresponding time trigger after the measures have been selected. A Defect Elimination will automatically trigger a 5 Why investigation.

Process Control Note

Tags must be presented in a way that status for ON/OFF can be obtained and false activation does not occur from things like calibration and maintenance mode of assets, and SLOW RUNNING tags must be smoothed so noisy signals wont trigger false events. Tuning for these tags is best done within the control system by a process control engineer so tag data is presented error free.
